Yesterday we had time to enjoy Venice. We took a boat from the train station to our hotel but we had to walk around aimlessly through narrow streets looking for our hotel. It didn’t help that when we asked people for directions they didn’t know our hotel or the street it was on. Thankfully, after wandering around for 30 minutes, we finally found it! And the hotel was really cute. Like most of the hotels in Venice, ours only had a few rooms. Our room was really nice and the bathroom was amazing. The shampoo, shower gel, and lotion smelled AMAZING. After my shower, I wanted to marry the shower!

We went to Saint Mark’s Square and basilica, took lots of boat rides, had a rushed visit to the Jewish museum, shopped, went to dinner, and got lost again going back to the Hotel.

Saint Mark’s Square was really cool. Except for the 300 pigeons. They were not so cool.

The boat rides were my favorite thing in Venice (besides shopping of course!). You could see the really old buildings that line the canal. Owning a ‘palace’ or building on the canal was and still is very prestigious.

View from the Vaporetto (the boat service that is Venice’s version of public transit).

Even though I am bundled up like I am in a Siberian snow storm, I am in Venice. As you can see in the picture, Venice was REALLY COLD! And I am never cold.
