We managed to do an impressive number of activities in Israel and I wanted to give you guys a list with what I thought were the best 25 activities we did. You can plan these for future trips to Israel, or if you live in Israel, these activities can be done on a free day or vacation.

I have organized the activities by city/area to make it easier for planning an itinerary.

Jerusalem:

– The Tayelet in Jerusalem

– Walking on the Old City Ramparts

– Tour of the Old City including Temple Mount and all four quarters

– Go join Women of the wall at Rosh Chodesh. This is only for those of you who are up to being yelled at by strangers (you might not get yelled at, but it could happen so be prepared).

– Cook and shuk food tour with Yael in Nachlaot (Foodie-insider.com)

Jerusalem and Tel Aviv:

– Walk on a fun shopping street; Tel Aviv- Shabazi, Dizengoff, Nahalat Binyamin (Tuesday and Friday only) Jerusalem- Ben Yehuda (very touristy), Yafo

– Go to Shuk HaCarmel (Tel Aviv) or Machne yehuda (Jerusalem)

– Shuk food tour; Machne Yehuda or Shuk HaCarmel

– Go to an old refurbished Ottoman train station (there is one in Tel Aviv and one in Jerusalem)

Tel Aviv:

– Bike/walk/electric scooter/run along the beach or on the pedestrian and bike paths in Tel Aviv

– Nachalat Binyamin (artist street fair on Tuesdays and Fridays). It is fun to look and, of course, buy.

Holon:

– Visit the Design Museum in Holon. Leave many hours for this! The exhibit will likely be different from the one we saw, but I’m sure whatever exhibit you see will be fascinating.

In the north:

– Do the cooking program GalilEats (cooking in the homes of Muslim, Christian and Druze families)

– Hike the Banyas Waterfalls (north of the Kinneret)

In the Judean desert:

– Dead Sea; at night, with Dead Sea mud, and during the day

– Ein Gedi

– Hike Nahal Prat (a national park)

– Masada at sunrise. Masada is only worth it if you hike up for sunrise. I suggest taking the cable car down (it only opens at a certain hour, so you might be waiting for a bit), but you can walk down if you want. Also, I recommend having a driver so you can walk up the Roman ramp and get picked up on the other side. Both walking down the Snake path and taking the cable car down will get you to the other side.

Eilat:

– Go scuba diving at the Dolphin Reef in Eilat or just snorkeling at the beach in Eilat. If you scuba dive at the Dolphin Reef, I suggest doing the one on one introductory scuba dive where everyone gets their own instructor to hold their hand and help them.

No specific city:

– Go to the beach

– Camel Ride

The next few things are food related, but activities as well:

– See all the doughnuts around Hannakah

– Get lots of yogurt

– Have a shoko bsakit (chocolate milk)

– Eat falafel and Shawarma
