We started our afternoon in Lisbon, Portugal by checking out a well known food market.
When we entered the food market we found a little restaurant that was serving Pastéis de Nata (a famous Portuguese desert). Pastéis are a sweet, creamy desert made out of a buttery, flaky crust with a creamy, silky custard. They are often served with some coffee. I highly recommend dipping your Pastél in some strong coffee. It is incredible! Pastéis are now one of my top 5 desserts.
If you are ever in Portugal, I strongly encourage you to eat some Pastéis with coffee.
Pastéis would be improved by drizzling some dark chocolate on top.
