Yesterday, we (Alexandra, our mom, and I) had dinner with people who we know from their sabbatical in Seattle who live in Israel.
The husband is a scholar of Jewish art and folklore and has over 70 different collections! Most of the collections are Judaica, but some are other stuff like the Beatles. His biggest collection is of Rosh Hashana cards. He has about 20,000 Rosh Hashana cards.
Some of the collections we saw were chanukiahs, flags from Simchat Torah, matchbox’s, Beatles, haggadot, and tzadaka boxes.
They probably had over 600 different chanukiot. The oldest one being from 1910. We saw a really cool chanukiah that was made out of the butt of a rifle.
Everywhere you turned there was an endless amount of stuff. Every bookshelf was covered and overflowing, all the walls, and closets, the only thing completely clear if stuff was the ceiling.
It was really fascinating seeing so many different collections.

Here are some of the chanukiot
