We went to Tel Aviv for the weekend of June 5th-7th. On Friday we went to Nachalat Binyamin, an art and crafts fair near the Shuk HaCarmel, where we spent lots of time (mostly waiting for Ima to hurry up). Then we went to a famous sandwich shop called Miznon, and got yogurt from Tamara, and checked in to our airbnb before heading to shul. We went to shul at an egalitarian chavura we had heard about. We spent our meals at the apartment of next year’s Beth Shalom shinshinit. It was the second time we met her and her family and we loved hanging out with them, eating good food, and talking.

On Saturday the 6th, we had a lazy day spent in bed and at the beach. I really love the beaches in Israel especially since the Seattle beaches, for the most part, are all rocky and freezing. Despite corona, the beaches in Israel have been packed for a while. After Shabbat ended we went to a yummy kosher Italian restaurant on Dizengoff St right by our airbnb.

Sunday, the busiest day of our Tel Aviv excursion, got started with yogurt for breakfast and shopping time on Dizengoff St. Then we went to lunch at HaAchim and headed to the Palmach Museum. We had the Palmach museum to ourselves and we learned about the Palmach, a big pre-state of Israel defense force. Then, the best part of the day, we got yogurt from my favorite yogurt place, Anita, on Shabazi St and rented bikes to bike along the water. To my disappointment, the bikes did not work great but the boardwalk coast is always fun to walk or bike along. Finally, before heading back to Jerusalem, we went to dinner at Old Man and The Sea near the Jaffa Port.

The airbnb we rented in Tel Aviv was in an amazing location as it was on Dizengoff St, but the airbnb itself was a horror story with no warm water to shower, food leftover from other people, terrible water pressure, and just unclean.

P.S. All the yogurts would be even more delicious with chocolate or more chocolate.
