On Wednesday night, we went to Petra to see it all lit up. We got there and had to walk for about 45 minutes only by candlelight. Then, we finally got to the Treasury, one of the most famous buildings in Petra. After playing some Bedouin music they passed out some Bedouin tea and then it was pretty much over.
The next day we explored Petra for about 7 hours. It was A LOT of walking!
Petra is really old and has a rich history. Since Petra is a very central location between Africa, Asia, and Europe, many trading routes went through it.
Petra is very cool because it is old buildings that have survived time and natural events like earthquakes.
The Nabateans, people who built most of Petra, have a very special building style. Instead of building with stone, they carve out of stone.
