Hi everyone! I am writing this post from the bus after a fun day of activities planned by Pardes. (Pardes is where my mom is studying this year)

I started my day at 7:30 am, and got to the bus for today’s trip at 8:00. After spending a good two hours on a bus full of people chatting with one another, we got off the bus to go on a water hike at Ein Bokek. I normally don’t like hiking at all, but I enjoyed this excursion. Since it is VERY hot today, especially since we are in the desert, hiking through the little stream that only went to our ankles felt very nice. The half hour hike took us to a little spring before we turned around to meet the bus again. At the spring, people enjoyed just sitting in the water and getting natural massages from the water that flowed down rocks to fill the spring. Apparently, the spring we were at is the lowest natural spring in the world!

Once back on the bus, we headed across the street to the Dead Sea. People then had a choice between hanging out in air conditioning or going into the Dead Sea. I don’t know if you have ever been to the Dead Sea, but it is a must have experience. It was my second time, and enjoyed it a lot. In the Dead Sea, you can float forever and the salt exfoliates your skin. However, if you have cuts, the water will sting.

During the bus rides, there was gorgeous scenery. Outside of my window I could see mountains, the Dead Sea, and pretty desert landscape.
