Saturday night, June 13th, after shabbat was over, we went out to dinner in the Shuk, at a fancy (and expensive) restaurant called Jackos Street.

We had eaten here once before, in the winter, and had loved it, so it was on our list of restaurants to eat at before leaving Israel. Jackos Street is a kosher meat restaurant, and has many things that I have never eaten (and some that I have never even heard of).

We ordered a meat (asado) bruschetta, a meat ravioli soup (kind of like kube soup), a mushroom asado risotto, chicken thigh, and, of course, dessert.

Everything was fantastic, but my favorite, and Alexandra’s and Ima’s, was the meat bruschetta.

I had suggested we get the dessert tasting menu, which comes with five desserts and costs about 60 dollars (and would have been completely worth it), but Ima and Alexandra didn’t seem to agree with my genius plan. So we ended up settling for two desserts, because one dessert is just not enough.

The bruschetta melted in the mouth, and was paired with a delicious sauce. It would be improved with garlic (although it is highly likely that there is already garlic in it, so in that case, it would be improved with more garlic)

The meat ravioli soup was good, and would be improved with the addition of garlic

I forgot to take notes on my opinion of the chicken thigh, so I don’t exactly remember how it was, but I always love chicken thighs, so I bet it was good. Also, most meat would be improved with garlic, so I doubt this dish was any different. In case you are confused, this picture is not just a chicken thigh, there are also vegetables in this dish

The mushroom asado risotto was delicious, and tasted quite similar to the bruschetta. It would have been better with an addition of garlic

A fruity dessert with pineapple and lemon grass creme, passion fruit creme, vanilla patisserie, blood orange marmalade, rice twill, and coconut and passion fruit sorbet. It would be improved with chocolate

A dismantled mille feuille composed of chestnut patisserie, hazel nougat, sugared pine nuts with chili, nougat cream, whiskey and chocolate truffle, and chestnut ice cream. It would be improved with more chocolate
