On Thursday, we went to Tel Aviv again. We hadn’t been out of Jerusalem for seven and a half weeks!
Israel has been dealing with corona virus really well. Many things have been opening and we wanted to take advantage and go to Tel Aviv for the day before heading up to Haifa for the weekend to see our cousins.
We got to Tel Aviv and, of course, had to get some food. With some food in our stomachs, we walked on a main street and did some shopping. Sadly, we did not buy anything. Then we headed to walk along the boardwalk on the beach. You are not supposed to be on the beach, but are actually allowed to exercise on the beach and the boardwalk, as far as I know, is okay. I don’t think it makes sense that you are allowed on the beach only to exercise because you can just say, “I’m exercising,” even if you’re not.
The water was so pretty, particularly because there was almost no one on the beach or in the water.
In the late afternoon we went to meet the shinshinit for our shul next year. She and her family were so nice!
The whole day I was shocked at how people were behaving in light of corona. People were so careless! Almost no one was wearing a mask and if they were it was not usually on their mouth. Although people did not seem to be social distancing, I saw tape lines 6 feet apart outside of stores.
Recently, I have noticed the many styles people wear their masks. On the arm, like those things that hold your phone while you are running, seems to be the most common, but I have also seen on your hair like a headband or just not wearing one at all.

This is not a mistake! Tel Aviv traffic is so bad that it takes longer to drive to some places than walk.
