We had a great quick trip up north which included natural hot springs (and they were hot) in Tiberias, Yeminite food in Sfat, and sleeping in Rosh Pina (an early Baron de Herzog community from the late 19th century, an organic off grid goat farm and Akko. In Rosh Pina we stayed at a bed and breakfast in a restored home from 1883 which had on display vintage home goods from different centuries. I enjoyed (while everyone else slept) exploring the restored historic houses of Rosh Pina and some art gallery visiting (it is now a town very popular with artists).
The goat farm we visited and where we had lunch is fully solar powered and off grid. They’re not connected to any electricity. Lunch featured 9 different homemade goat cheeses. I also got to eat a new fruit, lemon qumquat.
We ended our day in Acco – seeing Crusader and Templar’s ruins and exploring the walls. Also got to visit a mosque and dinner at a fabulous, famous fish restaurant, Uri Buri, where we got to meet the owner.
