A week from last Thursday we ditched school to go on a weekend trip up north. We slept in a little, loaded the car, and hit the road. We drove for a long time (3 hours), before reaching our first stop.
Our first stop was a water hike of sorts at Tel Dan. We did a ten minute walk to a pool and about a twenty walk through other parts of the park but the were other possible routes that were longer, and most definitely inferior. The pool kind of really sucked. It was super shallow, rocky, and full of disgusting strange creatures almost like a fish-bug hybrid.
Although Tel Dan was definitely a disappointment, the Banias, our second water hike, was amazing. At the Banias we again walked to water and sadly couldn’t go in but it was gorgeous. We walked pretty far down and the climate really improved. It was colder and more earthy and fresh. The Banias had a waterfall at the end that was stunning and you could feel the mist which felt so refreshing. I took millions of pictures of the magnificent forest and water!
After all of the hiking, we, of course, needed to treat ourselves to something nice, so we went to the Teva Naot factory which is on a kibbutz somewhat near where the hikes were. At the store we had lots of self control as between the three of us we only bought four pairs of shoes. Naomi and I each got one pair (though it took Naomi a long tine to decide on only one pair) and Ima got two.
By then we were starving as we had not eaten in roughly seven hours. We headed up to the town Metula which is literally on the border with Lebanon. To our disappointment, the town looked abandoned (probably because of Corona) and the food we got was not good.
We arrived at our friend’s vacation house in Katsrin later that night to much needed showers and a good nights sleep to prepare for the next day (which actually ended up being very lazy).
The pictures below are all from the banias waterfall and hike except the last one.
