Later this week, our school is taking part in a project where you build sukkot for people who can’t build their own sukkah or who don’t have enough money to do so. As a part of fundraising for this project, the 8th graders sold cookies yesterday in exchange for donations (ironically almost no one actually wanted a cookie).

Each of the two 8th grade classes split into groups of 2-4 girls and walked on Emek Refaim (a busy street near school), to get donations. My group raised the most money (234 shekels).

After we were done asking for donations, we all ate each other’s cookies. Yum! ? ?

Later that day, a few girls and I packaged up chocolate cakes that the 7th graders had made. The cakes were baked to bring to each family participating in the sukkah project. We wrapped over 12 cakes, added stickers to the packaging, and tied bows. Although most of the cakes looked appealing, there were 2 unfortunate cakes that had not risen and therefore were very flat. One of the teachers put one of the flat cakes onto the other flat cake. Even though the 2 cakes were now on top of each other, they were still flatter than the normal cakes. This was super funny and the other girls and I were all laughing for a long time.

Looking forward to building sukkot on Thursday!

P.S. All of the cookies and the cakes would be improved with the addition of chocolate
